Apprentice Restaurant
Apprentice Restaurant is owned and managed by the Institute of Culinary Arts chef school. All offerings make use of local fresh produce and items such as smoked chicken and mussels, bread, fresh ice cream and all sauces and chutneys are made in-house. The restaurant is relaxed, modern and comfortable, and the food is outstanding.
Casparus
This beautiful restaurant is on one of Stellenbosch’s most historic streets, Dorp Street. The layout is unique as is the architecture and artwork that adorns it, and the service and atmosphere are warmly inviting. Master chef Etienne Bonthuys provides traditional dishes as well as creative and unusual pairings.
Makaron
Makaron’s atmosphere and decor are elegant, eclectic and a touch bohemian. The chef promises to delight your palate with his floating menus or a la carte offerings. After your meal, relax in the cosy and comfortable lounge for a drink.
Moyo
Moyo, On Spier Wine Estate, is about exploring the best of African cuisine, from the East Coast, to the South Savannas, through the deserts of the North and the jungles of the West. The a la carte menus are diverse, exotic and eclectic, and the whole dining experience leaves you craving more.
Indochine
This restaurant, with its Asian-inspired cuisine, is in the Delaire Graff Lodge & Spa. Menus feature fresh organic produce grown in the greenhouse and on the Estate. Flavours are aromatic and lively and the food is beautifully presented. Diners can eat inside or alfresco with magnificent views.
De Volkskombuis
De Volkskombuis Restaurant, with its authentic Cape Dutch setting, specialises in Cape cuisine that is more traditional. The hosts, Dawid and Christelle Kriel, treat their diners with real Cape hospitality, for which the restaurant has become famous, apart from its excellent food.
Basic Bistro
Basic Bistro, in the heart of Stellenbosch, is a cozy welcoming restaurant that is open from breakfast to dinner. It has a wide variety of menu items but specializes in Espresso based coffees and indulgent pastries for breakfast. Dinner is all about Gourmet burgers and pastas.
Cafe Creme
This gorgeous cafe has a warm and cosy homestyle atmosphere and epitomises all that is Stellenbosch. Their motto is “Life is a piece of cake – eat your heart out!” They serve breakfast, lunch, salads, wraps, smoothies, delicious indulgent pastries and muffins and of course the best coffee.
Cafe Nouveau
This is fabulous old-fashioned café with loads of atmosphere. It has gilt mirrors and tightly packed tables serving sandwiches, light meals, coffee and cakes throughout the day. Enjoy a taste of the real bohemian life here!
